Intro to Criminal Justice (CRJ 100)

Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice

This program prepares the student for entry into the field of police work and related occupations. Criminal justice vocations have evolved from jobs with traditional requirements to jobs requiring complex technological knowledge and skills. This curriculum gives the student theory, principles, and techniques employed by criminal justice agencies and police units. The study of the law as it relates to criminal justice agencies, human behavior, government, and communications along with specialized course work comprise the curriculum. Graduates from the AAS in Criminal Justice program may seek job opportunities on the federal, state, county, and municipal levels.

With experience, the CJ graduate may move into administrative or supervisory positions in corrections, security and/or law enforcement.

The Computer Forensics certificate develops skills and techniques needed to adequately gather computer forensics information during a criminal investigation and follow the chain of custody procedures to ensure a successful prosecution.
