ETC Electronic Throttle Actuator Tester HTML Transcript

The Electra throttle ETC electronic throttle actuator tester was developed from the ground up as a modern DC motor actuated electronic throttle control actuator and tester. Here's an automotive diagnostic tool designed from the beginning as a full electronic throttle control and solenoid unit.

Using the same circuitry as the automobile ECM, this unit is tough made to last and extremely accurate. It can actuate the electronic throttle with a fine-tune precision needed to be able to test the internal dual TPS sensors.

It is also needed and useful when cleaning the throttle body plates.

Here are your possible uses for the Electra throttle:

  1. When cleaning the electronic throttle body plates.
  2. To be able to find sluggish and binding electronic throttle mechanisms and gears.
  3. To test the ETC throttle body return spring which over time weakens and causes issues.
  4. It has a useful rebuilders 400 Hertz setting actuate the throttle two times per second there by performing a month's worth of activity in ten minutes.
  5. Use it whenever you need a secure way to open the throttle body and not to worry about your finger.
  6. If you need to test all sorts of solenoids with a 400 Hertz setting like the transmission pressure control solenoid, shift solenoids, evap perch and vent valves, PWM hydraulic solenoids, and any other 12-volt PWM operated electric valve.
  7. PWM duty cycle controlled motors such as PWM radiator fan motors, AC blower motors, and other DC PWM controlled motors.
  8. Used to test ETC internal dual or triple TPS throttle position sensors.
  9. The fine tuning of the twenty kilohertz PWM duty cycle control signal is above the peg motor s resonant audible frequency for the human ear so it s Simon. It is also absolutely important when doing very slow ETC throttle actuation to determine if there is a blind spot at the TPS or throttle position sensor.
  10. Work on the ETC system with confidence that you will not create other ETC issues with the ECM adaptive memory settings.
  11. Work with a key off and engine off and disconnecting the throttle connector so no danger of messing up the ETC drivability memory and causing a lipping mode.

The Electra throttle has two frequency settings; 400 Hertz and the 20 kilohertz PWM control mode. The 400 Hertz mode allows for all solenoids testing and also used to test ETC throttle as rebuilders mode. The 20 kilohertz frequency mode is the normal ETC actuation mode. This tool is here and will give you many years of reliable service.

Enjoy.

The Zapper Ignition Coil Pulser Tester HTML Transcript

Automotive Ignition Coils today come in all shapes, and of different types. Vehicles now employ C.O.P. or Coil On Plug systems, D.I.S. Distributorless Ignition, Coil Over Plug, and still around, the standard distributor coil.

In order to test an ignition coil, you need three things. You need a pulse, at a fast enough speed to simulate high RPM, and you need a pulse width no larger than 2 or 3 milliseconds, or 2 milli seconds to be safe.

The coil pulse width range, for any engine, is between 1 and 5 milli seconds, but a 2 milli seconds pulse width is safe to prevent coil oversaturation. If oversaturation happens, meaning a wide pulse, the built up magnetic field is weaker, and no spark will be seen outputted. Some techs will try to manually jump the ignition coil, but this often results in little or no spark output. This is because, the coil trigger pulse has to be very short, as mentioned, about a few milli seconds, which is impossible for your hand to do.

The end result, is you end up replacing a a good coil. This is where the Zapper Ignition Coil Pulser and Tester comes into play.

The price of any coil today ranges between 70 to 140 dollars, and some even more. And that is a per coil price, multiply that times the amount of cylinders your engine has, and you see the point.

The Zapper Ignition Coil Pulser and Tester does all that. It is a complete coil pulser and tester. It provides the right pulsation speed, between 800 to 2000 R.P.M. and, at the correct pulse width, or between 0.5 to 2 milli seconds. This coil trigger range, is guaranteed to work on all coils today, be it C.O.P., D.I.S., or regular coils. That also includes the coil packs, which is a type of D.I.S. distributorless ignition system.

Using the Zapper Ignition Coil Pulser and Tester is easy.

It comes with a grounded metal platform to attach the coil to. The Zapper coil pulser, also comes with various coil pin connectors, and a universal alligator clip adapter, just in case you need to test bolt on terminal coils.

It can test all ignition coils, and coils with built in coil driver transistors.

The Zapper Coil Pulser, allows you to change the pulsation speed or RPM, from 800 to 2000 RPM, and the dwell or pulse width of the coil to between 0.5 to 2 milli seconds.

Finally, it lets you change the spark gap to the gap adapter rods. This you can do manually, but if too wide, then the spark will not be able to jump the gap.

A one half to 1 inch gap is good enough for most coils.

Here is the Zapper Ignition Coil Pulser Tester in action.

Automotive Fuel Injector Pulser and Testing Tool HTML Transcript

Developed to perform fuel injector flow testing, injector cleaning, and pulse width, general injector health determination. This includes, pintle opening, binding, and weak springs. But most of all, to perform accurate fuel flow tests, using this injector pulser, and your fuel gauge.

The unit can handle any and all fuel injectors in the industry. It can generate 5, 10, and 15 milli second pulses, and can also give you 1, 2, 4, 10 or continuous pulses.

Why did we develop the Wow Fuel Injector Pulser Tool?

The ability to test fuel injectors, is a must in today's Misfire and catalytic converter auto repair industry days. It is for this reason, that we created the Wow Fuel Injector Pulser Tool, to tackle the "Very Exacting" demands of fuel injector diagnostics.

The Wow Fuel Injector Pulser Tool, can deliver the most precise fuel pulse in the industry. That, coupled with your accurate fuel gauge, is exactly what you need to determine if the fuel injector is causing your problem. Within 10 minutes, using the Wow Injector Pulser, you will know if you need to clean or replace the injectors.

But, what is the Issue?

The issue, is that a 1 PSI injector flow difference, is the key to ruling out or not, the fuel injector as the culprit. So, the issue is also that the flow test, "NEEDS A VERY ACCURATE INJECTION PULSE". So, to do the fuel flow test, you connect your trusty fuel gauge, engine OFF, cycle the ignition key to pressurize the system, then using the Wow Injector Pulser Tool, you actuate the injectors.

HERE'S WHERE IT GETS TRICKY.

All of today's cheap injector pulsers, like the OTC and others, will give you 50 pulses, at 5 mSec. That's nowhere nearly the accuracy needed to properly test the injector, not by a long shot. Why? Because you need to pulse the injector, with the gauge pressurized, at between 1 to 10 pulses and between 5 to 15 milli seconds.

By doing this, you may then compare your readings among all the tested injectors, and good known injectors. A 1 PSI difference between injectors, is enough to flag the injector as clogged. And as a rule, any 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engine needs more or less the same fuel requirements.

But, THERE'S MORE TO IT STILL.

Often, the injector flow test will not show a 1 PSI difference, using the cheap OTC like pulsers, because they're not accurate, and can't give you the amount of pulses needed for a proper test.

The Wow Injector Pulser Tool, can give you a SUPER ACCURATE pulse of only 1 pulse, at 5 Milli Seconds. This level of accuracy is reserved for the newer higher impedance injectors on 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines, that also employ lean burn air fuel mixture. This is because injector pulse width narrows down, to create the lean burn.

With the Wow Fuel Injector Pulser Tool, you're set for now, and the future of the fuel injection industry and auto repair.

The solution to the Problem.

How is the Fuel Injector Pulser going to help you?

So, as you can tell, the solution to properly diagnosing the fuel injectors is an accurate fuel injector pulser, and your fuel gauge. The rest is to simply pay attention to your reading, recording them accurately, compare the readings, and you're set.

The Wow Fuel Injector Pulser Tool, can also be used with a scope, to determine if the injector pintle is opening late, if the injector spring is weak, or if it is binding. It is also a huge asset for anyone engaged in fuel injector cleaning and rebuilding.

It is simply, a complete tool for fuel injector diagnostic and repair.
