Student Laptops

This guide provides forms for instructors/students to request a laptop to use for the semester.
Student laptops will no longer be available to check out from HCTC Libraries. For students with active loans for the semester, you may continue to use the laptop until otherwise notified until the return date on your loan agreement form (last day of classes). For students with laptops are overdue, please return immediately to the library location where you picked it up. How to Place a Request for a Student Laptop

  • A limited supply of laptops are available at both HCTC Libraries (Hazard & Lees)
  • Go to tab "Laptop Request Form" and complete form, hit submit
  • Laptops can be picked up, at the earliest, one week before classes start for the semester
  • Photo ID must be shown at pickup
  • Must be enrolled in at least one class at the time of request
  • Laptops are typically due by the Friday of finals week (With exceptions)
  • Laptops should be returned to the HCTC Library location from which it was initially borrowed (including the original charger that was lent with the laptop)
  • Student laptop borrowers are financially responsible for any damaged or lost laptops
  • All students who do not return their borrowed laptop by the specified due date will have a financial hold placed on their student account
